EDZ thermals

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by M J Carley, Dec 3, 2007.

  1. For years I used a German tank crew coverall which was fleece-lined.
Utterly stonking, it was and even had an underarm holster.

I'll let Platy take that option for his Ostfrontmotorrad.

  3. It would be just the thing, of course.

  4. These are truly fantastic. The fleece lining on its own (it comes
unclipped) is great to wear under M/C gear in the cold. The only
drawback is it is difficult to get them in sizes to fit anyone over 5
foot 10 inches as the tank crew are chosen on the short side to fit into
    the tanks better.

'Point Below Base' thermals are very good, aimed at diving but have all
    the properties you need.

I'm as short as Lozzo, so height wouldn't be a problem. How bulky are they?

  11. Not terribly; imagine a folded up set of overalls and double it. If you
mean how bulky to wear, if you have large fitting kit you can leave off
trousers, jumpers, and simply wear the tank crew fleecy coverall under
waterproofs, or just wear the lining itself under normal kit.

  14. Ex-NATO stores of various types and locations. I last found some just a
couple of years ago, in Kilkenny of all places, so they're still around.
I think they're still standard issue for the Bundeswehr panzer crews,
    bicbw.

Ah, they'll all be wanting them now.
    What?

Hmmm, they might even have some NATO green touch-up paint.

Most people quote their waist size in inches, not feet and inches.

If not, AWOL close to Southmead Hospital may be of use.
