Just what we want, I-poles to sense we are about to run a red light,
communicate with our car and have it automatically stop.. just in time for
that semi you were watching - bearing down behind you - to 'help' us
through the intersection... accordion style ... faaark... are these idiots
thinking??? man there's a human element to technology you know...

    Brilliant concept!

This will enable more people to own cars and be able to drive as it will see
    the abolishment of licenses!
Who needs a license when you don't even need to think about driving?

They'll never do it - they'd lose too much revenue from fines.

Last thing that I want is some electronic robot hitting my bike's brakes
for me, particularly if it's wet.....

Never happen as there is one over-arching saving grace to why we will never have robots operating vehicles or taking over driver decisions according to a Beyond2000 program I was watching. Even though there are now robots that can drive your car better than you can, they still can't work out who would be legally liable if something went wrong and as such, no insurance company will touch it. We can have driver assisted technology (like ABS etc), just not driver replacement technology (like robots).

True, but it's slightly more believable than anything posted from someone named "Conehead" :)
