Right, I've emailed a few fools ref doing this one but is there anyone
else wants to come along when we re-open the Eastern Front?

It's at the end of January, it's in Loh/Thurmansbang-Solla (Germany)
so it might get cold and I reckon about 650 miles from Calais so two
easy days of riding will see us on the beers.

It might get cold, my arse. Unless you catch a bad year you will be
camping in a couple of feet of snow.

    Perfect terrain for Platy's outfit.

Heh, you almost got the email but I thought you might be insulted to
be referred to as the interpreter. You need to give this due
consideration because it's going to be an epic.
I'm not allowed an outfit because we've nowhere to put it but I've
    gone for a sensible compromise.

A friend of mine went in a sidecar one day and said she wouldn't have dared
take her bike, 'cos there were cunts binning it all over the shop.

I'm used to that anyway :)
Hmm. Have to see how it'd work with, erm, work and if I can be arsed.
Heh. I know what the Bayerischer Wald is like in winter and there's no
way I would go there on two wheels. Three, maybe (although I'd more like
end up chasing the bike down the motorway, on foot) but two is a really
    bad idea IMHO.

Mark me down as a definitely interested.

However this is dependent on finding a suitable bike... And I don't
think that any of the things in my sig is right.

Hmm... excuse to buy an R1100GS...

For the Elefantentreffen, sir may want to get a set of training wheels
with the bike, unless you're used to riding on snow. I just checked and
they confirmed that they aren't clearing or gritting the whole area so
chances are that you'd have to wobble about on snow. IIRC some people
had a hell of a time getting the bikes off the site last year as they
    were practically snowed in.

Of course if that's too warm there's always the Kristalltreffen...

    I already had.
Surely you've noted that Sweller is offering a more 'local' option?
I wonder if my brother will lend me his HP2?

In which case... I think I've found the ideal bike.

Although, I think I'd prefer this if it weren't for ground clearance

    In communiqué <-consult.com>, Timo
If I still had the Mille/Squire I would be up for that. Is the story
about someone having to have the handlebars removed from the machine
with their hands frozen on to them on arrival true?

I did the Dragon with a mate on my old Matchless G80 and trials sidecar
one year. We had a total loss lighting system run from a car battery
stowed in the genuine Watsonian trials chair. No snow, but epic mud with
our tent nearly inundated by flooding from a stream. We exited the site
with huge fountain of mud spouting behind us as we crabbed across a mud
    covered bridge.

Ginny tells me you've strong-armed her into riding in the
platy-ural-chair. Not met her before, but quite liked here, and only
realised at that point just how screwed up she must really be.

Congratulations. You've managed to make end-of-year Annuity Fund
    Accounting sound positively delightful.

To be frank, I'd rather shave my nuts with an electric plane, tbh.
