Most of the usual suspects are going so is anyone else up for it? We've got a slightly different plan for this year but overall it'll be the usual sort of thing involving riding bikes, getting pissed and lighting big fires. Tues 26th January leave UK (1), drink beer on ferry. Wed 27th January ride to hotel (Randersacker) and drink more beer. Thurs 28th January ride to rally and drink more beer. Fri 29th January drink more beer. Sat 30th January ride to Prague, check into hotel, drink more beer. Sun 31st January ride to hotel (Randersacker), drink more beer. Mon 1st February ferry home, drink more beer. Total mileage isn't really very high, it's about 300 miles from the ferry to Randersacker, 170 to the rally, 150 miles to Prague then 200 back to Randersacker. We tend to stop every 100 miles for fuel and a warm up so it takes most of the day to do 300 miles but it's all motorway to within 25 miles of the rally so there's not really any chance of getting lost... We've found that getting to the rally on the Thursday afternoon gives a good chance of finding a decent spot to camp and we've decided that rather than spending 3 nights there we'll have a night on the lash in Prague thus getting the chance to pick up fines in yet another country. We'll probably be stopping just out of the city centre because of the bikes but apparently public transport is cheap and plentiful so expect a good few hours of eating & drinking. Cost is up to the individual and anyone wanting to save a few quid can get a crossing from Dover and meet us at the hotel. We usually go for hotels costing about £40 per night and fuel costs will be pretty low because of the low cruising speed. Obviously the main cost will be beer but we also spent a fair chunk of cash on firewood to keep warm. Fuck knows what the weather will be like but last year it was -10c at night (possibly lower but wgaf?) so anyone interested needs to know they'll need decent kit. Don't be afraid.... (1) Some of us are going from Harwich and some from Newcastle. It's about 75 miles more if traveling via Calais so those that hate ferries can use the train and still get to the hotel before dark if they want to.
