Empire Day

  1. I've put my central heating back on this evening as I'm not very warm at
all. Bloody miserable weather and I'm on holiday at the moment. Can't
get out and about to do anything or even try to get the garden into
    better shape.

Good God. Apart from that week of hot weather recently, I've not turned
mine off at all this year.

    I'm sitting in a toasty 21 degrees.

Well, as I'm going to be orf work for some time due to some stupid bint
thinking that looking at the front of a train from the four foot might
be a good wheeze, perhaps we can organise another pleasant beer tasting
    day out?

La Defense is the area of Paris roughly equivalent to Docklands in
London, right down to the fact it's nice and shiney in the daytime,
but full of dodgy geezers at night (several members of staff from our
company have been mugged leaving the office late in the evening on the
    way back to the hotel).

It's mostly big mirrored buildings, but there's a sort of grotty early
80s shopping mall to the south of the Grand Arche (i.e. the opposite
side of the arch from the CNIT building), and there's an Auchan
supermarche at the western end of it where I buy the champagne.

ah right. we're meeting in one of ours groups buildings [1] so I'll
ask them where the relevant supermarket is. not that I need more
champagne like as I have four bottles that need drinking already.

you can never had too much champagne.
"pharmaceutical users software exchange" still sounds like a bunch of

Up to the NW of Paris. It's primarily financial businesses that are
    there.

Aside from the shopping precinct and offices, there's **** all else
there. If Adie wants to go out for the evening, then I recommend
getting a taxi back to the hotel at the end of the night.

champs elyses (or however you speeeel it). cant see any of us being
    sober enough to walk.

Just say "Elysium Fields" in a loud english accent, they'll understand
    eventually.
deffo get a taxi back to to the hotel at La Defense - you really don't
want to be on the RER or Metro in that part of Paris at night.

Bollocks is it. The only things that get swapped are CVs.
Doesn't have to be, but yes, 99% of pharms users make it so. Trouble
is, that 99% have never been trained in IT, so they just 'make do'
with the pre-canned stuff as far as they can, even though it can be
    much, much, better.
It's a fucking computer language, FFS. Its not supposed to be
    'exciting'.
