So what good would letting them sink do us? I haven't got a lot of savings
but letting them go down the pan would not have been a great sight.

    Right fucking nightmare that was.

No indexation allowance on losses? Who's silly idea was that?

No, Labour have got us a credit card bill, and most of the stuff the
bought on it has been used up, eaten, broken or worn out.

All they've left us with is the bill.

Same as the last time, and the time before that, etc.

At the end of the day the shit has hit the fan.

I'm waiting to see who gets the credit when the banks are back in profit
and the government pockets billions more than it spent.

It cost our company well over 100k to change our software for the new
rules, & left us around two man-years behind on other things we wanted
to do. That lost us our biggest client. Not something a small company
with around ten staff can afford.

Something the NHS trusts know only too well. Apparently they need to
ditch around 30,000 of the new posts in the next three years as Labour
forgot they'd need paying for. That'll be the Tories'/LibDems' fault no
    doubt.

What the NHS need to do is go through the same pain as BT in the early
2000's. Consolidate on providing the best possible clinical services. Stop
trying to be a giant property owner/manager and Fleet operator. Do well
what only a public service can provide and leave the infrastructure up to
those who can do that sort of thing efficiently. They are shit at it and it
takes up a lot of staff.

Cash was making a right old **** of himself and I expect Cameron is flexing
his cane ready for the beating.

Relax and take pleasure at the SNP predicament. Having pontificated about
how a Con administration cannot represent Scotland there is now a coalition
representing 12 Scottish MP's and 878,000 voters. The SNP manage 6 seats and
491,000 voters. Oh and Fish Face has been dis'ing Cameron and the Con's all
    week. Oh deary deary me.

If he had thought just for one second he might have remembered all those
local authorities which operate in a Lib-Con alliance.

Even the DUP haven't blotted their copy book so badly.

BT were going through it long before that. I was running a sizing
project in the mid 90s to see how many warehouses we could close, & the
15k redundancies a year phase had already started.
I know nowt about it, but that sounds very believable.

They had a rationalisation but no compulsory redundancies, the Union
agreements didn't permit it. The settlements for voluntary were ever so
    generous.
Then later they outsourced the Fleet and sold/rented back the property
portfolio. Or rather rented part of it back. Which tied into the break up of
the Group and the separation of the staffing and IT.

It wasn't the rationalisation that fucked the company I might quickly add.

But any fucking idiot could do that by simply borrowing more and more

Are you talking about BT? If so, I know, I got my redundancy in '95
after a couple of years of asking.

But it proved that with pragmatism it can be made to work. Fish Face was
banking it was impossible. At least I assume he was, having put all the eggs
in one basket. Either way he can kiss his arse now.
