To celebrate the end of our first season here in Rocamadour we're
having a biker meet here on the weekend of 16 / 17 October as the
weather will still be superb but not too hot, and the summer tourists
will mostly have gone from the area.

In an attempt to drag you lot down here to sunny South West France
here's are the reasons why you should:

Superb roads, on the way here & around the Lot
We're on the way to the Pyrenees/South Coast/Spain so can be a stop off
    point for a good weekend.
Good wines locally, superb food, cheap beer in Lidl (thought I'd chuck
    that one in!).
    Rocamadour itself is stunning
    http://france-for-visitors.com/lot/rocamadour.html

The most amazing ice creams are sold just over the road!
And did I mention there are some fantastic roads around here.....

    So the plan is:
Friday night / Saturday : Arrive and chill out & enjoy yourselves, pick
up some beer/wine/dead animals for the BBQ (Lidl, supermarkets & market
    town 5 mins away).
Saturday Evening : BBQ & pizzas from the bread oven (our bread oven
makes the most amazing pizzas & bread!) eat, drink & enjoy. We'll
provide the basics, salad, bread, burgers & some cheap beers.
Sunday: breakfast & then ride out locally or visit to Rocamadour/local
    sites. Buffet style lunch.
Depart or stay on & ride some more roads & enjoy the local sites.

We have the 7 seater Landy so can drive some of you down to Rocamadour
if you want, it's worth seeing, daytime or evening.

Plenty of tent space & I have a couple of tents here (only 2 man) if
anyone wants to borrow them, or we'll do a good deal on the B&B rooms,
    some left.

www.lanoyeraierocamadour.com (still working on it & all comments still
welcome) to let me know if you want to come, or want more details on
how to find us. Or use my normal gmail addy.

Er, no.....it's an ivitation to a p*ssup, albeit a little further
afield than it would have been in Harrogate. Usual bring beer & bikes
    thing.

Even if it was, IIRC it would still fall within the remit of this NG as
    it's bike related.

Me orders single room, possible it?

Concerning the BBQ, would a Spanish Jamon (not Parma shite) and a shitload
    of vino be welcome?

Bollox - using a shared laptop that someone else had left logged in to
Google Groups. This post should show up as me, Champ, properly. Who
    still wants a room.

Are you going then? I kinda missed this, or ignored it, not being in a
planning state of mind at the time, but now I'm thinking we might go
    over too.

I would have liked to have gone, but have quite a big excuse not to. When is
it? I might have to go to France soon to visit a friend, so maybe...

Ok, ok, I'll go and look for the original thread.

Found it. Just read the email from my friend, in which he says "Anyway, the
nearest big town is Cahors (that of the Roman wine and the triple-towered
bridge!) 300 k from the crossing at Port Bou."

Hmm, 16th/17th October, eh? Will talk to the wife and said mate.

Anyways, do we know if there are any rooms left free?
