I don't want to reproduce, but I won't deny anyone else from
reproduction. You're going to cause people to suffer by being a pig,
    have some compassion for people.

Don't ever complain about high petrol prices, or increasing bills or
    traffic jams then.

Hang on..... traffic jams are a good point, however, high petrol prices
and increasing energy bills are being driven by environmentalists.

21st century environmentalism innit? Years ago they was all long haired
sandal wearing soap dodging weirdos weren't they? Grant squandering
students and academic types mostly. Give 'em one of them negative
public images didn't it. Sensible solution was to go all Gucci and make
saving the planet a fashion thing. So they did and they got nearly rich
and suddenly their consciences said they could make more money out of it
so they did, or rather will do as and when we all jump on the bandwagon.

Higher bills wouldn't be anything to do with the declining natural gas
production in the UK would it? Current plans to pump Co2 into oil wells
isn't going to be a long term solution either. Trouble is, that there
are so many faux tree huggers and people that just don't care, like you.

I do think you're not seeing beyond the end of your nose geeza.

As I've said elsewhere, higher electric bills are significantly affected
by our inability to be self sufficient in fossil fuels. If we'd kept the
mines open we wouldn't be reliant on buying crude / gas from foreign
    suppliers.

Thinking about it - there's a fucking simple way to reduce carbon
emissions, but that's not environmentally friendly either. Personally,
I'd like to see 100% of our electricity come from nuclear plants. That's
about as clean as you can get... then we can forget about hitting people
    for using cars / bikes.

It's there to lubricate them tectonic plates innit. No wonder there have been
loads of earthquakes recently. They've pumped out all of the lubricant.

What's wrong with the idea of going 100% nuclear for electricity
    generation?

Means we free up more oil for cars and bikes.

Domestic nuclear power in the uk was only ever a means of producing
weapons grade materials. It costs loads more than other means of
electricity production. 'Too cheap to meter' was just a spin to convince
    the public it was ok.

I knew the game was up when a 1980's UKAEA report stated that plutonium
levels in the river Clyde were 'no higher than natural background levels'.
It's not a naturally occuring element. They are finding chunks of highly
radioactive shit turning up all along the northern coast of Scotland from
Dounreay now. Sample of mud taken from picnic sites at the side of the
river Bain at Muncaster castle 10 miles inland from Ravensglass have had
to be disposed of as intermediate nuclear waste. Butchered cumbrian sheep
put in freezers before Chernobyl were found to have massive levels of
radiation in them. 20 tonnes of radioactive shit have leaked out of the
Thorpe reprocessing plant at Sellafield recently.

Forget it mate, it's unimaginably nasty shit. Really.

In which case we need to talk to the French, then... they appear to have
quite a successful nuclear power programme - or certainly did when I
    last looked at this.
So, in conclusion - it's nasty shit when things go wrong, but other than
    that it's fine.

Something should be done to reduce the number of people
who say carbon when they mean carbon dioxide.

May I just quote from my old school geography textbook?

"The first half of the 20th c. saw a great improvement in the climate
and an increase in temperatures, particularly in winter, although this
was accompanied by increased rainfall and reduced sunshine....
Since about 1950 there have been signs of a recession in the British
climate, evidenced by lower temperatures (particularly in winter) and
more snow and rain. The frequency of really bad winters has increased
since about 1940; that of 1962-3 was the worst since 1740....
This evidence may suggest that a recession towards a new Ice Age is
beginning. Arctic pack-ice has begun to advance. Alpine glaciers have
    extended to lower altitudes...."

It shows the difference in attitudes over a few years.

    Why not?

It wouldn't be there if we weren't meant to use it.
