Here is my working list of engine configs to write about in
    the
Motorcyclopedia. I haven't written any of these yet, I'm
    working on the
    animations.

    Have I left any out?
    ******************************
4 Stroke Engine Configurations, with 2 stroke where
    applicable:

    - Single ( + 2 stroke)
    - Twin, V (all angles, + 2 stroke)
    - Twin, opposed, horizontal
    - Twin, parallel (180°, 360° firing sequence, + 2 stroke)
    - Triple, in-line (all firing sequences, + 2 stroke)
    - Triple, V(+ 2 stroke)
    - Four, opposed
    - Four, inline (all firing sequences)
    - Four, inline horizontal
    - Four, V (all angles)
    - Four, square (+ 2 stroke)
    - Five, V
    - Five, inline... does this exist? I've never heard of one,
    but that
    doesn't mean squat.
    - Six, V
    - Six, inline

Where I have an example of a 2 stroke version I've included
    it, but I'm not
    certain my list is complete.

Actually, the Honda 250's weren't odd, they tended to be even....2's,
    4's and a 6 or two.

It was a 125 from Honda that was odd....the five cylinder.

Do you have the L-twin 6-stroke that Seffistrayan chappie built?

  10. Are you doing methods of valve actuation within this project?

  12. What about the Knocker engine? eg. Commer
    or the Deltic?
A Deltic would be a tight fit on a motorcycle though..

Dunno about morbidelli, but Laverda made a V6, even did a replica for
sale as a road bike a few years ago.

  16. You know Sharkey, I was just waiting for you to mention the
    "transversely-mounted counter-rotating dual-rotor Wankel" or the
"flat, opposed seven", or, of course:

"The motorcycle's 16-liter engine was a little monster: six
1800cc pistons and four 1300cc pistons in a complex W arrangement
with three heads: one twenty-valve four-cylinder bank in the
center flanked by a pair of eighteen-valve three-cylinder
banks. The central pistons had five valves each, three intake and
two exhaust; while the flanking pistons had six valves each,
three intake and three exhaust. These were operated by a complex
set of hydraulically actuated valve lifters, with camshafts
located two over each cylinder bank and two more in the gullies
    between banks."

    :)

When Manning sets up a new Gentleperson's Motorbicycle Compendium,
written entirely in INTERCAL and with text in Old Esperanto,
only then will he be worthy to behold to sublime glory of
    the Spagthorpe Motor Company.

(and I didn't mention the Norton Commander, either)

    MVX.

They made a todo about it when it came out, cos their 4 strokes were as
bad as everyone else's and Yamaha's LC had the market sewn up. I
vaguely recall some marketing bumph saying it had more cylinders so was
    better...

It disappeared very rapidly when they started seizing every other start.

Then they decided to stick too what they knew, and instead of a complex
2 stroke sportbike brought out a complex 4 stroke sportbike, the VT250.

The first model suffered Honda Camchain-itis, but they were all fixed
under warranty (as they seldom got over 8,000 before blowing up) and
after that were fine. A few other niggles were sorted as it morphed to
the fullfaired Integra and then the Spada we all know and Big loves.
