    I'm home, and I didn't crash.

    Yay me!

Thanks to folk, hello to people I didn't say hello to, goodbye to
people I didn't say goodbye to. Nice to see a few more faces.

It was good getting back on the bike and riding more than a few miles.
I had thought there'd be a mental wall to get over, to get back into
the swing of things. Happily, it all clicked on the way over the snake
pass so my riding didn't make me look like much of a muppet.

We stopped for fuel on the A50 and within a mile of getting moving we
were in stationary traffic which stayed shit all the way to the M1.

I couldn't see any obvious reason for the chaos because the M1 was
clear as soon as we joined it and I'd been expecting it to be more of
    the same.

Same here, except I got stuck behind a couple of muppets who were
filtering *incredibly* slowly. There was no way past them for fucking
    ages.

Anywhere near Donington Park? The renault world series was on there,
which would've caused a bit of traffic.

    I went A515, A50, A511, A444, A5 and had no jams at all.

135 miles from full to reserve, put in 17 litres at 145 miles, 39mpg.
    Must try harder.

Indeed. Seemed quieter than last time, though.

Yes, it was much better behaved on the way home. In one sense, anyway.

Oh yeah, like it's *my* fault. I promise not to show anyone else.

    Unless they ask nicely.

That was before we set up the audio system for the evenings
entertainment. Although a couple of mp3 playing portable phones don't
quite create the same ambience as SDs goldwing at full volume.

The Blingmobile was in attendance. All you had to do was keep its new
owner sober enough to fire up the audio and...

    Oh. I see.

Your absence was noted. Luckily I brought someone with me to keep an
    eye on my breakfast.

Otherwise, gratitude to all those who deserve it; a good time was
    indeed had by all.
