    Fair comment!

    ........ go on then
    Ewwwwwwww

This is around £450ish and that's a good independent not mainline.

HTF three go all in a row is beyond me.

Gosh, and I googled it as well, that's the only way I could get the little
thingy on top of the 'e'! I'm really, really not French.

'uncharacteristically shy': can't be me, then.

    <polite cough>

    Have a 'c'.

It's already shown that like its previous owner it likes to go for a
little lie down now and again.

Advice like this really pisses me off - I don't know, nor care, what
OS and keyboard mapping you use, but why do you expect that everyone
else will have the same as you?

This is a UK. newsgroup, so it's fair to assume the majority of people
here will have a default UK keyboard map, I'd have thought..

I did actually hold down 'alt-gr' and press the vowels and the number 4.
It produced pretty pictures and refused to send the message due to
    violating UTFsomethingsomething-hypen-splat. Yourbumtoo evidently doesn't
use the same mapping as winblows. Shrug.

  12. Given that for most people here it's "Windows" and "UK keyboard" it's a
    perfectly valid bit of advice.

And it's valid for any version of Windows from Win95 up to Vista..

I know I've been accused of writing wittering prose but it was only one
more sentence. Have I been wooshed somewhere?

I wouldn't worry about it. It was a single missing accent on a single
character in a foreign language on a UK-language newsgroup and the only
person who minded was UKRM's own entry for the next series of Grumpy Old
Men. He's not always like this. Something must have got his back up.

Actually, the accent was there. At least it was when it left my client,
and it was there when viewed with my client. The original complaint was
that I omitted the second "e". It's all got a little protracted at this
    stage. :eek:P

When has anyone here renounced the chance to protract the most minor
issue for as long as possible, rather than do their job?

And who is he calling a Grumpy Old Man?
