Just don't let the stand sink slowly into melting tarmac. Someone I met
this week has an 1800 quid bill to repair, and that doesn't include
fairing panels as it had R+G bungs on it. Hefty parts prices, like 81
quid for a clutch lever, and those diddy little carbon panels that the
Factory model has each side of the fairing being over 350 quid each.
One standard silencer was 650 quid too.

Because I plan on having a good time at the EOSM - not spending the
entire weekend running around after a 3 year old whilst translating the
meaning of the word "****" to my 10 year old daughter. EOSM is one of
the few times I get to "relax" away from the kids.
You made me choke on my coffee then - I'll have to go and change my
    jumper now.

Fairy nuff. It was amusing having kinder squidding around last time.

I guess that having to have them the rest of the year can get rather
    annoying.

And, relating to the "c" word, the only time I heard it uttered around
a child was when the child blurted it out.

    ....Who owned said sprog anyway?

Young kids don't belong at BOSM or EOSM, simple as that. The likes of
Platy's daughter and LN's kids aren't that young any more, and they're
smart enough to know how to behave, so imo they are more than welcome.

As much as I love having kids around me in day to day life, I don't
want them getting under my feet at a biker's pub meet. I find it a PITA
having to watch what I say at work, I don't expect to have to do the
same when I'm with friends in a party atmosphere.

I hadn't realised that Steph had the age of 3 running around,
otherwise I wouldn't have suggested it.
I'm sure I heard "Laurie is not a role model" explained to someone
    last time.

Platy's daughter, Laura, came out with that line to me last time. All
    her own work IIRC.

    Here Here!

I love my kids dearly, but that doesn't mean I want to spend every second
of my life with them. As I say to the youngest - Mummys need time to
    relax too.

As for the oldest, she's far more sensible and mature than me, it would
be like bringing my Mother with me "Do you really think you should be
doing that? Don't you think you've had enough to drink already? Don't you
think you should be going to bed now?"

Case closed - I'll either get childcare or we won't be attending.

Yeah, when I'm busy pissing in my originals, smoking woodbines till I'm
banjoed, I don't want no rug rats spoiling my biker lifestyle.

    My my.

  17. I feel like gollum. Part of me wants to say "yeah, it's hardly the most
raucous of 'biker events', but the other half wants to say 'don't be a
knob, it IS a biker's pub meet'.

    take your pick.

That was Pip, in the little cubby bit of the restaurant, having
several attempts to see who could shout "****" the loudest, much to
    the "amusement" of the diners.

    Loz told him off, iirc.

Simple. If people want younger kids to come along, then they organise
    it themselves cos I won't. I won't attend either.

I don't think those who wouldn't attend will be in the minority either.
