From a parents perspective: It is a dangerous environment for young
kiddies, a lot of ukrm has no idea how badly children and machinery can
interact and the noise which kids can make after and the kids don't have
a clue about piss heads not presently on bikes. It is an accident
    waiting to happen.

  2. Oh I understood that - it was the sarcasm about 'bikers lifestyle' I was
    querying.

And rightly so, I'd do it again.

We have to remember there are families who dine there when we 'take the
place over'. I think a little respect for other customers goes a long
way to making us welcome again.

Pip apologised and it didn't happen again.

    I wasn't criticising you for a moment.
He's not a bad chap, when all's said and done. I think he was just a
    little "emotional" at the time.

I'm fed up of all this speaking in riddles bollocks. If the man was

    *Emotional* my arse.

I was tired and emotional and ever so slightly drunk, but it still
didn't help me get to sleep.

Indeed. "Tired and emotional," is the proper term.

I think everyone should take a deep lung filling gasp of fresh air,
slive up a lemon and put it in a glass with some G&T and forget I ever
    mention children.

It's probably because I've gone all broody as of 3pm.

I don't see how anyone shouting "****" as loudly as they can could ever
be seen as being acceptable in any pub, especially one where kids are

I fail to see why we're still discussing the subject because we're all in
agreement. No one (myself included) wants to go to an *OSM where there
are kids - and I don't know of anyone who is considering taking kids to
    an *OSM either.

The Cornwall holiday is a different matter, the original plans were made
by Pip, Elly and Family, and others were invited to attend - including
    children.

I therefore assume that everyone coming to Cornwall is happy to spend a
week in the company of kids - My kids aren't angels all the time, Emma
sulks and Jessica has a demon right hook when annoyed. I will do my best
to ensure they don't wind anyone up, they are generally well behaved, but
they ARE kids and it's their holiday too!

I think she got it from me, via me telling Joe 'x [1] is not a role
model' so often that he has said 'Basically mum, what you're getting
at is anyone you're friends with isn't a role model'

[1] usually Matt or Ginge when they're off on one of their 'wouldn't
it be a good idea if..' [2] conversations.
[2] No it really wouldn't. Especially when it involves fire or things
brought back from the lab. Apart from the chloroform.

A lady at work is due to explode in a couple of months and was
speaking to me about the baby she is carrying and let me do the
'healing hands' thing on her bump. It was very odd, a very strange
    feeling.

I don't know of a word to describe it, but I felt something mentally
reinforce in me when I was speaking to her of this child, and... oh, I
don't know. I don't know how to put it into words. I keep wanting to
say "It's very unnatural" but I can't place that, it isn't unnatural.

I felt that I should be protective and concerned ... I can't find the
word, perhaps poetry would help. I don't know where this feeling came
    from.

But I think I'll leave it there. "Bump poetry" is beyond me at this
hour and there's still a bottle of Vodka in the freezer calling to me.

I wonder is we could organise a crèche at the BOSM? I actually spend a lot
    of my time child minding.
