Just out of curiosity like, is there anyone going to the EOSM with a
    Bandit 12, GSX1400, BMW R1150GS or R1200GS?

Would like to have a "Can I See If I Can fit"fest on any bikes that
don't require one to have ones knee bent 180 degrees :)

All things being equal, I'll have a B12 by then. In fact, I'd be
happy to drop round to your place in a couple of weeks if you'd like.

Aha, good things go around..... and around again.
I have also been perusing them as a cheap, fun, back friendly stand in.
You did a few miles on your last one, good/bad points? I wouldn't mind
spending a few pounds with Messrs Maxton/Akrapovik & Dynojet if it made
    enough difference.
The 12 seems to have decent brakes as standard?

Actually, it makes things very interesting indeed. It caught me out with a
    near vertical wheelie. :-}<snip>

    There's a possibility there'll be a GS/A there...

/me hopes there'll be a R6, an R1 and a mille there to play on.

Was watching an SP1 on ebay for very silly (ie little) money.

    Cheers

    Super, ta.

Looking on the Suzuki web site the B12 seems to have a longer peg>seat
height than the GSX1400. But they're just photos.

    I'll give you a call.

Thanks for letting me know, I had noticed it in your sig :)

Suzikis current offer is tempting though, but they only include the
faired bandit 12, which looks naff IMHO. The are doing the GSX1400
though but it'll work out £170 a month, and since I'm not working I
really don't fancy that at the mo.

What are the details of yours?

Just replied to your email, sorry just forgot and it got lost in all
the job emails every day :-\ Yes thanks, love to. :)

frag emerged from their own little world to say
If you ride an R-GS then make sure you set the seat in the higher position.
This increases the seat-peg distance by a couple of cm. I've found this
makes a positive difference to knee comfort on a long journey.

I have a 31" inside leg and can just about get both feet on the ground with
the seat in the upper position.

I know of a couple of riders who have fitted peg lowering kits to increase
comfort. The GS ride height means this will not adversely affect the ground
    clearance.

I vaguely remember you perched on Marc Donovan's RGS at Sarratt
    a couple of years ago.

Comical doesn't even begin to describe it. With an increased seat
height, I may be in need of a abdominal suture kit.

Nah, but I am on the lookout for the successor to the 12R. Currently
    it's a GSXR thou.

The SP1 would have been a cheap upgrade to the firestorm, as i'd like
an ounce more power. I've got used to the raw grunt of a
    more-than-litrebike !
Sorry for pissing you around over these bits. I'll send you a mail to
your work addy. I have had access to webmail removed at work, which
    hampers things a tad.

    Cheers

    Paul.

I'd hardly be tempted to set it to the lower position!
Yup I bet it does. I see on BMs website that the 1150GS has a seat
    height of 900mm (860 lowered), and the 1200GS 860mm to 840mm.
33" inside leg, so I should have no problems.
Aha, very interesting to know that they exist, and fitting them doesn't
mess up the cornering (too much but I'm not a knee down rider anyway,
but thats just due to inexperience)

steve auvache emerged from their own little world to say
Yes. You may not compress the suspension to the same extent though.

Need to take care when stopping on a steeply cambered road mind.
I've seen someone 5'6" on a standard 1150GS. Seems to manage alright but
probably has to plan stopping and parking carefully.

As a shortarse, the most difficult thing can be hoiking the thing upright
off the sidestand if it is laden with fuel & luggage. Some people have
added a 2" block to the sidestand to reduce the lean angle.
