    Not *that's* what I call a face-lift.

Not spare, but it wouldn't be too hard to source the difference between
    spare and 30k.
Heh. He'll probably feel a lot poorer once he gets his Corvette back on
    the road.

I have at the moment, as it goes - twice over. It's not spare as such
though - it's the startup capital for the new venture, raised by
re-mortgaging up to the hilt. It is proving quite hard to resist
blowing it on some new toys though...
Ain't dat da troof. The Tigtona conversion's eating a fair old lump
too. Still, you only live once blah blah.

So you don't have 30k spare.

You've borrowed 60k which is allocated to something else.

Why did you (or does anyone) feel the need to disclose details of
    disposable income etc. here?

Spare in so much as I could still spend it on whatever I fancied if I
    changed my mind.
    Pretty much.
Can't answer for anyone else, but in my case it's in the hope that
someone will come up with a convincing enough argument to persuade me
    to buy an MV R312.

    Possibly.

Still seems to be another way of people bragging as far as I can see.

And who, pray tell, mentioned anything about disposeable income here?

Good God, if I can't judge according to *my* cultural background how the
hell can I judge? Grief, you'll be telling me I've got to give up my
    prejudices next.

FFS, this is usenet and is free.

If it's dealing with deep-held fears and prejudices I can't take it
seriously unless I have to write a cheque at the end to seal the lesson.

I presume you can offer a VAT receipt?

Wouldn't he implicitly be disclosing how much (as a minimum) he turned over
    if he said yes?
