There used to be one right here. Driving in the sixties and early seventies
when the last house in town had an "End Speed Limit" sign in front of it
which meant what it said. Unfortunately not many vehicles then could exceed
the current 110 km/h limits applying in those areas now. I started my
unrestricted speed limit era with a Morris 8 which could manage 105 km/h
after a long run-up, and ended it with a Mercedes 220SE (a manual with four
on the tree) which saw 180 on the dial a few times.

  9. Can you claim to have done anything with your life, alx?

I realise that insulting people and implying they partook in war atrocities
is the height of your intellectual wit.

Perhaps you require some time in the room of mirrors?

I did once travel on the Putty road, at the Putty end, at over 100 km/h, but
there were extenuating circumstances. It was a 13 tonne fire truck driven by
someone nicknamed "Lurch", in a convoy of three trucks. It was dark and I
had my eyes shut. I seem to remember we only had 15 minutes before some pub
closed. We got there just in time and the publican kept the place open for
another hour 'for the visiting interstate firemen'.

    Or was he carrying it?

Well I guess you missed the entire discourse of Dodgy's thread (aka the
"Dodgy Manure-ver"), needlessly doing the same to self and sundry,
especially once he runs out of thoughtful argument.

**** See! The Dodgy Manure-ver is a stoopid strategy! Thanks for
    confirming it for him! ****

I;ve had my fun along with Dodgy so you can close the door on the way out
    too please :)

Dodgy's a big boy and can look after himself.
