So far, the UK only seems to be a refuelling point for Air America, and not
    an endpoint. Hopefully.

What fucking terrorists, you gullable plank?

Do you really think all this effort and expense can be justified purely to
    stop a few bombs?

More people are killed in domestic accidents each year than have ever been
    killed by fucking terrorists.

The whole issue is blown totally out of proportion. A scared population is
    much easier to control.

I always do that on the test ride while it's still registered to the
    previous owner.

No point in taking unnecessary risks.

Nah. That's not it I've done 160-180 on a bike for some distance (30 odd
miles) and had plenty of time to think about the speed.

I'm not comfortable in a car at high speed either but I think that might
simply be down to lack of opportunity to get used to it. Also, I've never
owned a car that would do >130.

Aye I'll say it again. The UK and the EU are starting to look a lot like
a modern USSR. It's deeply worrying, you never hear the other side in
Parliament objecting and I'm taking steps to make sure I'm not enrolled.

  6. In uk.rec.motorcycles, platypus amazed us all with this pearl of wisdom:
Sounds alright, actually. I'm going to be going away to visit some old
haunts over Christmas and it will be nice to search out and even go into
    a puib.

Sounds like a (as you say) good craic.

I'll have more out of it than that before he gets back from his
holiday. No guesses as to where Champ chose to park his car.

Good idea. I'm on holiday until the 3rd Jan but he gets back on the
    1st.

We'll wait and see if he bans me from doing it. If I don't hear
    anything by 10pm tonight I'll assume he doesn't give a ****.

Heh. He seemed surprisingly unconcerned about leaving it with you, but
a bit worried you might snaffle the bottle of ChateauNeuf du Pape he'd
left in it. I out his mind to rest though, when I pointed out to him
that neither of you would touch that crap.

Someone else had the keys and I'm not actually insured to drive any
cars apart from works shit and Adies Peugeot.

  13. it wasn't even touched between me bringing it me back and starting it
an hour or two before champ was due to land. I did make sure that its
keys and both sets for mine were locked away before we went to
    Belgium.
as you know i don't touch anything red. andy might have drunk it
though. but given we have approx a dozen decent bottles here I doubt
he'd have gone to the effort of going outside.
