Everyone survive the weekend?

  1. Hi,
With the motorbike exhibiton on in Melbourne it seemed like everyone had
gotten their bikes out of storage for the weekend.

Curious to know if anyone was hurt or killed after seeing some of the riding
about town. A group of bikes were doing the Yarra Boulevard at near race
track speeds. It may be reasonably safe to open up on some of the corners
but overtaking cars full speed around the hairpins is russian roulette. I
came face to face with a barely in control bike, if I was in a car he'd be a
    hood ornament right now.
Over the weekend I heard plenty engines racing to redline, maybe they'd miss
shifted, maybe they were doing it for the hell of it or maybe they'd
discovered the joys of wet tram tracks.

Was the show any good? Were there many 2004 bikes? I quite enjoyed walking
around the bike park seeing the tricked out bikes.

    Cheers,
    Duncan.

I survived by staying at home working around the house,I would'nt say it
was to wet & cold for me to ride, It's just that I don't have my bike at the
    moment.

A kid didn't survive the ramp that the dirt-bikies put together in
    Mornington, Tas, on the weekend.

    Another one for the 'road'-toll.

    Nah,
they're not including it the road toll, since it was an off road thing..
    and the kids were twits..

"Hey the Crusty demons of dirt can do it, do you reckon I can?"
"Sure timmy you can borrow my skate ramp"

    crazy people.

Don't be too sure. Check the definition of a "highway". In Victoria it means
"...a street, road, lane, bridge, thoroughfare or other place open to or used
by the public for passage with vehicles and includes every carriageway,
footpath, traffic island, nature strip and any area provided to separate
vehicular traffic on any such street, road, lane, bridge, thoroughfare or
    other place;"

Basically; if you can ride or drive there, it meets the definition of a
    highway.
