ST4 bodywork is a little complicated. The centre front fairing has to come off to remove the side panels. The side panels can be removed without moving the lowers. The seat side panels have a rather awkward retaining bolt/spacer which comes through from the wheel side. That makes removal/fitting a 90 minute job. However once the bodywork is off the devil spawn that is a Datatool Evo can be excised. It was spliced into the starter solenoid, the fuel pump, rear brakelight and indicators. Along with sorting a dodgy high beam bulb it took 4 fucking hours. It made a satisfying screech as it was finally ripped away from the bike and continued to warble weakly after being thrown into a corner. By this morning it was dead. This has made a huge difference to my enjoyment of the bike. By comparison new clutch plates and springs took all of 30 minutes, gotta love dry clutches. The old friction plates had 2mm of wear at the basket, the new ones are 0.5mm. The bike is *SO* much quieter at idle.
