Popped down to see the lads at NE Motorcycles at Neville's Cross this morning. I don't care if they cost a little more, they give me damn good service. Anyway, I knew they were selling Nitro lids, so had a try of the new ones. Not bad, nice fit, shite colours though. He only had bright red and matt black in my size. Oh well, so I browsed around the rest, tried on an FM, nice and comfy, but again not my size. And there was suggestion that FM might be going bust. Then I tried a Caberg V2, right colours (I need blue to match the clothing ;-)), and a bloody nice fit. Indeed it felt the most comfortable. It was quiet too - I could see Simon's (their partsman) lips moving, but couldn't hear a word he was saying. Turns out he was telling me about the built in sun glasses. What? Yes, a little lever on the side pops down a tinted screen behind the main visor - which in itself is pretreated for anti-fogging. In all, I was impressed, the vent controls were very positive and felt solid, and it has a metal clasp on the chin strap. It all fitted nicely with my glasses on too, so that was it, job done. All that and fibre glass to boot, still under £100. And, I also ended up ordering a pair of Avon Azaros to be fitted in a couple of weeks.
