Caught a program on telly, about the Erzberg Rodeo single day endurance
race. Not so much a race, as a war of attrition. 1500 riders enter and
    just over 20 finish.

Set in Austria on the site of a quarry where they're already ripping the
guts out of the landscape, so they let these loonies have a race there.
There are huge hill climb sections, flat out race sections, big rock
trials sections, sheer drop off sections, most of it very scary for normal
    people.

Very impressed with Travis Pastrana, who I only knew from freestyle MX.
That kid seriously knows how to ride a bike.

Gotta love the fact that despite people breaking bones left, right and
centre, they still let this race take place. It was completely insane.

Absolutely fantastic program, albeit with cheesy voice-over guy. Came
    across it on Extreme Channel.

Couple of google vids available, mostly German speaking but gives you the
    idea...

You'd probably get the same by searching google or youtube for "Erzberg".
