Not particularly long distance, but a big item.

I didn't expect to win the Snap On boxes, but I did.

Anyone heading Manc -> Sarf (Newbury, Oxford, Milton Keynes-ish)

I'll be doing Manc to Bedford on 19th and 24th or 25th April [1] if
that helps. if it'll fit in the back of the RAV4 I'm happy to
    transport.

[1] depends on if Fulham get through to the next round tomorrow.

If someone else can get it closer to the M6 I'll grab it as I come
past on my way home on the 16th but by closer I mean to a service
station or similar because I'm going to be leaving work, driving home
then jumping straight on the bike to go to the Black Horse so no way
am I doing any kind of a detour.

I'll almost certainly be traveling down from Heysham so anywhere south
from there will be great but even a 10 mile detour would cause me
massive problems due to the Friday night traffic being a right ****.

They will fit in your car with the seats down, but you'll need help

I didn't look at the lot, but a snap-on roll cab is impossible to lift
into the back of a 4x4 without two reasonably strong blokes. I lifted
in my Halfords Pro one on my own.

Top boxes are quite hefty pieces of kit, not overly heavy but an
    awkward shape to lift comfortably.

Me and the seller just managed to lift my 7 drawer roll cab into the
back of my Focus, and getting it out alone was a nightmare, but Mr
Gravity and a shitload of cardboard helped get it out with no damage.
The 9 drawer top chest was easier loading into the car as it has
handles, but I had to have help getting it out as my kidney was giving
    me grief that day.

Yup, mine's the 4 drawer like the one on the picture. I don t think
i've ever seen such a big top box, it looks to be about the same size
as the roll cab, so it'll be fucking huge.

My top chest is about the same size, but the one Simon has is the
pallet type with the folding tray, with clips on it for sockets etc,
that goes into the lid as it closes. I think it's a KRA63C, and I
wanted one but couldn't find one cheap enough.

I've warned Adie about the potential perils of having a **** off great
big roll cab smashing about in the back of her motor.

    Hmmm.

Thanks for all the kind offers and thoughts. Obvious really but I hadn't
thought about that fact that they're waaaay too heavy to stick in the
back of a car. I think I'll get 'em picked up by a pallet delivery co. -
I've used www.speedshift.co.uk before and they're generally ok.

I don't think you realise the weight difference when you're used to
flimsy pieces of shite on offer from Halfords, and they're
significantly more sturdy than even Pro stuff like Clarke's or Sykes
    Pickavant.

It only becomes obvious when you've tried to/had to lift both types.

Mine are earlier generation Snap on cabs, as I can't afford the modern
stuff, but even considering they're at least 15-plus years old,
    they're still working great.

    Cheers,

    Paul.
