Well, yes, that is probably the closest comparison, but even that one
wasn't sorted out by an overtake in the last two corners.

I do have the occasional lurk, just to remind me of how many bitter,
twisted, racist fuckwits there are in the world.

    throats, as usual.

I caught the last 5 minutes by accident - quite entertaining really.
I'm glad I didn't watch the rest of the season, mind.

What's with those girly flashing rear lights? Safety nazis!

Well, I missed that - however, everything I've read, all the
"insider" gossip has it that he is immensely unpopular, perhaps even
more so than Schumacher. For Alonso to state openly he would do all
he could to help Massa is, I think, almost unprecedented from a driver
    not under "team orders".

  12. There is a fella down our local who is utterly convinced that the Pussycat

Of all the interviews I've heard in the last 24 hours John Surtees was
one of the best because he commented that given the opportunity
anything was possible but youngsters needed to be given that
    opportunity.

I really hope that just because it's later in the year and people have
forgotten how well British athletes (1) did at the Olympics we don't
see an over reaction giving Lewis Hamilton sports personality of the
    year.

    (1) Maybe not track and field though.

Hardly surprising really. Any racer afforded the same level of support from
McClaren would attract resentment from the other drivers in the paddock.

You can't really blame Hamilton for missing the people skills to help
ameliorate that resentment. He has been so isolated from reality and
manipulated by family and McClaren to the extent that he appears robotic at
    times.

Troo. He beat Jim Clark on the last corner - I read it somewhere this
weekend. Clark had an oil leak or similar.

"The championship, fiercely contested by Jim Clark, John Surtees and
Graham Hill, was decided at the Mexican Grand Prix when Hill was
delayed after a collision with Lorenzo Bandini's Ferrari. Clark was
forced to stop with an oil leak on the last lap, and Ferrari signalled
Bandini to let Surtees through into the second place which gave him
the championship by one point from Hill."
