<sigh> Yes, I'm getting rid of it. I'll get something bigger an newer later in the year. It will be posted to ebay either tonight or tomorrow night (a week long auction to end around 20:30 - No reserve - No Buy It Now) I suppose I could give the bike a wash today and take more photos tomorrow after the water has evaporated. "" Kawasaki ER-500 (C1) Model year: 2002 Registration: EO02... Miles: under 25,000 Colour: Black ("Pearl Purplish Black Mica") 2 Owners 2002 Kawasaki ER-500 for sale, tax and MOT valid until February '07. This bike is roadworthy and runs but please don't bid unless you know your way around a bike. A "warts and all" review follows. Please read it carefully. It was thrown down the road in April '05 and the clocks were smashed, there are also a few dents and scratches on the right hand side of the fuel tank as well as scuffs on the plastics. I have the original clocks with 22,110 miles on them which will be supplied to the auction winner - everything here is open to inspection. A replacement chrome speedo has been fitted which now has around 2,100 miles on it (it needs wiring in for the back light to work). The mirror arms have been replaced since then and the front right signal has been replaced with a pattern indicator. I purchased replacement ER-5 clocks from someone else on ebay but never got around to fitting them as the second hand ones displayed the wrong mileage and I haven't adjusted them to the correct figure. These will be thrown in with the sale as they're no use to me. The replacements need a new white internal panel which Kawasaki say can be ordered on its own. When the original clocks were removed to fit the new speedo the right signal light started flashing too fast after a few seconds. This is because the front right indicator is a pattern indicator which has a lower rated bulb in it. Both of the left signals are the originals and flash as one would expect. When the replacement clocks are fitted they'll all flash normally as there's green signal light on them which drains off the power. This bike has been used in all weathers for journeys long and short and has not be stored in a garage. The ER-5 is designed as a real work horse and commuter and it has been used as one. It's been very reliable since I purchased it in March '05 and I'm sorry to see it go. On a recent trip within the UK the bike broke down and I had it recovered home. It's done a few hundred miles since then and is still used daily. Although it sounds and runs fine there's a whiff of petrol from the air box and one has to keep an eye on the fluid levels on a long ride. The front brakes are a bit spongy and I assume they just need bleeding. Because of this I'd suggest anyone who is interested in this bike should know what they're doing. The bike is supplied fitted with engine crash bars, rear hugger, heated grips, extended front mud guard, it had a new chain and sprocket set installed earlier on this year and now has a braided front brake hose. In case you missed it above this bike also features rust, dents, scratches, scuffs on the paintwork, a small nick towards the back of the seat cover and makes an annoying tweet from the exhaust (Main dealer: "But they all do that, Sir.") I'm selling the bike as I'm going to be upgrading to something larger over the summer and don't have the time to take it apart and flog it for spares here. If you have the time to do it after you win then feel free, but this bike is being sold as one unit, as seen, without warrantee. All documentation including the new style log book and MOT certificates are present and available for inspection. I'll even throw in the Haynes manual and a cup of tea. You can test ride it if you wish as long as the cash is put in my hot little hands before I hand over the key. I'm not arranging delivery for you, if you win then you need to collect it within a week of the auction end date otherwise you'll be awarded with negative feedback and I may well relist it. If you've got little, none or negative feedback please email me before bidding. If you wish to view it before the auction ends please email me via ebay and I will supply my phone number. You may view the bike at my address after 5.30pm during the week or pretty much any time over the weekend. I am the owner and registered keeper of the bike and it is registered here. I live in the village of Saltwood which is just north of Hythe in Kent a couple of minutes drive from M20 junction 11. This bike is advertised elsewhere and I will end this auction early if it sells early. Payment will be accepted as CASH ONLY. No credit cards, no cheques, no gift vouchers, no postage stamps, no swapping, no IOUs, no PayPal and definitely no magic beans will be accepted. Cash only. Please ask if you have any questions. <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/01.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/02.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/03.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/04.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/05.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/06.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/07.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/08.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/09.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/10.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/11.jpg> <http://www.hayn.nildram.co.uk/er5/12.jpg> "" <sigh, sigh>
