Faaaark!

    I find it frustrating when people moan about there being no candidates
    who represent their beliefs and yet, when it comes down to it, they've
    not prepared to stand for their own beliefs either.

    who happens to believe the same things, running the
    parish/county/country guided by those beliefs and trying to persuade
    others that those beliefs are the only valid ones (or make more sense
    than any others)

    The two are a mile apart IMO.

    Having worked with someone involved in politics, I know there's simply
    no way I could make the sacrifices - family, social, financial - that
    he has. It really does take a particular sort of person.
