  2. I once rolled a borrowed Yamaha 180 (IIRC) in neutral from the
top of Mt Wellington. I think I got 14 km, and if I'd kept enough speed
to top a little crest I didn't quite get over I'd have gone several km
    further.

  3. Look at the names here...
http://www.eneabba.net/Tasmania/Tas02.htm -- it's amazing how much of Europe
is named after places in Oz.

  4. Yeah - but it was you bastards wot named them, don't forget. We've
been renaming them back to aboriginal words for decades now.

New Frigging South Wales for christ sake. Get real.

  5. I'm currently living in Hobart on the River Derwent. Lat December I
was up in Keswick on the Cumberland Moors, on the River Derwent. I
grew up in Launceston on the Tamar River. I didn't get to Launceston
on the Tamar River in the UK, but I guess I should go and have a look
when I get back over there.

Insane, find a new country on the other side of the world that is
totally different to where you came from and try and conform it to
    your old world.

  6. That's a fun bit of road too. About 10 years ago I had to prove to
someone that a car can get up there as quick or quicker than a bike,
so took two hungover Boags brewery sales reps up at 6am in my Lancer
EVO as long as they promised not to throw up :)
I think they got the point.

  7. Like six-fingered locals? Yeah, that'd work.

I've been to Dover, in Kent County, Delaware. It's as much of an armpit
as the original one. Next door to Sussex County. I think the other
county's called Newcastle, just showing that the yanks always did have a
    shaky grip on geography.

it's not a bad pub, as it goes. Just a pity it's not a bit handier.

Still, I've finally discovered a pub in walking distance from where I
live that I actually quite like.
