FAO: Those who wanted a Garmin MapSource Update...

Having given up waiting, I phoned the support line and asked where the
update disc was I ordered 6 weeks ago.

"There's been a delay in shipping. Can I take your details and I'll get
another one sent out to you."
"Errm, if there's been a delay, how will that help?"
"Ummmmmmmmmmmmm"

<thinks> Ah, you're reading from a script.

"How about I give you my order number and you can check it from there"
"Ah, we can't retreive your details from your order number. I'll need to
take them again."
"Fine, here are my details."
etc.

So, at a rough guess, their ordering system went tits-up, they've lost the
orders and you won't be getting the update unless you re-order.

Oh super! I'll try unlocking it at 2am then, might stand a better chance.

 

Indeed, mine was waiting for me this evening when I fell in through the
door.
