That's almost exactly wot I just fort.

I think I've mentioned it before, but I used to go to evening soirees
at my then local hi-fi shop, to rub ears with other local saddos and
drink the proprietor's wine and scoff his nibbles. Oh, and we used to
listen to some really, really hot shit electronics, too.

Anyway, there was one guy I got on well with and we seemed to share
opinions on most stuff - then the night the Meridian rep turned out
with the full monty, he was so impressed he bought the whole setup.
Just like that. At a suitable, negotiated ex-demo price, of course,
but FFS - just like that. I was stunned. And jealous.

 

You've never listened to a Meridian setup, have you?

 

No, but I bet my Robert Johnson recordings sound just the same as they
do on my 50 quid Goodmans surround-sound thingy with the three speakers
unplugged.
