  2. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Ben Blaney
Good ged, he is too. 97!

I was *sure* he'd shuffled off this mortal coil, but it seems not.

    Well batted, big feller.

ITYF that, in fact, for *most* people they are both more convenient and
    cheaper.
It would probably be quicker for them to go to the supermarket and get an
    entire week's food. Convenience, see.
At a cost premium. That would be the 'cheaper' bit.
To do that you need to by in greater bulk. That means your two bags are no
longer sufficient. (At least for a family) so it's back to the car.
Ho yuss. Never touch the stuff
    Yep

  4. We will just have to disagree then. I don't see how changes to the
planning laws that positively support large scale detriment and remove /
reduce the rights of people to complain against such schemes is "going
along with it" - as just one example.

But you're comparing apples to oranges still. How long (start to finish)
does it take to drive (or take the bus) to the supermarket, but an entire
    weeks food and reutrn home.
No compare that to the time it takes (start to finish) to nip on a bus, get
a couple of bags of shopping and return home. Now multiply b by the number
of times you have to do it to end up with the same amount of food as a. If
that is less time, I will be very surprised. I will also suspect you of
    cheating.
Different argument, that. If you compare like with like directly,
supermarkets are cheaper. Yes one may spend more, but you get more
    (quantity).
How can you cook a batch of stuff and freeze it until you've got it? I'm
not sure what on earth your suggesting here, but you seem a bit confused.
We have a microwave. It gets used for two things
    1) Coffee
    2) Porridge
Also yep. Don't get me wrong. I loathe Sainsbury's et al, but I'm as much
a slave as the next bloke. I'm not prepared to sacrifice my lifestyle for
increased fod bills. And to top it off, there are no decent food shops in
    Harlow.

Because that's not what *most* people want when they go shopping.
    Uh huh ;)
Almost certainly, as long as you compare equal quality

Yes, but still wrong IMO. You have a family at all? I suggest you try it,
limiting yourself to what you can carry.
**** nose. Reheated cafetiere coffee tastes *almost* as food as fresh and a
thousand times better than the best instant.
Heh. Not usually, since I know how long to put it on for
Take it from me, you would. If you bought the same amount of stuff. I tend
to blend my shopping: Makro, Sainsbury's, some market. Local Organic Farm
for special occasions, distant fishmonger likewise. It slaves my moral
conscience, but means I spend rather more in fuel and rather a lot more in
buying organic meat and decent fish than if I stuck with the shite that
Sainsbury's sell. OTOH Makro's meat is rather a lot cheaper.....
Yes. You buy less stuff. Less impulse buys.
Yep. SWMBO does that about 60% if the time she goes out for me.

Observation. If people didn't want (or at least think they want) to do it,
    they wouldn't, surely?
Quality of product, measured any way you like.
    Erm, no
    ;)
