Exactly. Riding is a pleasure! when you get taken out of it for a few
    months it hits home.

    Booooooo.

    Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

    Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Who's going to knock the beer over?

Who's going to be involved in an RTA in a comedy stylee?

You should be fucking ashamed of yourself.

The good news is: it's not too late. Places are available.

    <grits teeth>

I'll even buy you a half.

Be there, or forever hang your little ginga head in shame.

****'s sake! We've even arranged for you to not be the only deformed
    person on tour.

    What more can we do?

change that I can make: I have decided not to breed. Now quit bugging me and
go and talk to the Catholics.

Well, it's a fucking disgrace, and no mistake.

I'll even club together with Nige so we can buy you a whole pint.

I'm very grateful, but suspect you should have said "trying to be
    funny".

Now that's unkind. I'm sure it's not been 4 years since WUN bought
    someone a drink.

So, now you're coming on your own, are you going to follow the others
down the autoroute, or come play with me on the twisty bits near Rouen?

Point of order, a *table full* of beer
It could be a trip of several firsts. I even had an inkling that TOG
might buy me a beer when I was pleading dire poverty to him.

    <too lazy to google mode>

Did you already post a proposed route and do you have a sense for how
much longer in terms of time it would make the journey?

    Laughable direct route via Paris
    http://tinyurl.com/crbsne
    373km, 3h 58m

    Boring route via Rouen
    http://tinyurl.com/cy79uo
    415km, 4h 58m

Boring route with a brief detour to find some wiggly bits
    http://tinyurl.com/ddskjm
    428km, 6h 2m

All figures from Google, so with minimal or zero fag breaks and a degree
of enthusiastic progress-making on the autoroutes those times should
come tumbling down. A bit. We have about six hours from disembarkation
at Calais to dinner in Pithiviers.

Other than the brief detour via Rouen, I can't actually find a way to
make the journey to the hotel anything less than a four hour motorway
slog but, given the rather humdrum nature of the roads near Pithiviers,
it has to be worth a shot.
