Fecking Great

  1. Finally after nearly three months of waiting, broken promises, misleading
e-mails, refusal to return the wheel without me arranging a courier to
collect it and un-returned calls I got my wheel back today off of
    www.alloywheelrepairs.net (aka http://www.aceperformancecars.co.uk/) after
a message on my phone telling me it's all done and looks "fantastic".

Well it may well do to a blind person with no hands with which to feel the
finish but to anyone with even partial sight and all their appendages it
looks and feels like a complete abortion. It is still buckled, has been bead
blasted so hard that the exposed alloy at the disc mounting point looks like
some rough cast iron and the powder coating is covered in pinholes and flat
spots. When I sent it to them it was just slightly buckled, now it's fucked
    up and buckled.

I've just sent them an e-mail asking for 75% refund or alternatively I take
action through the small claims court, it will be interesting to see how
that goes. In the meantime I'd seriously recommend that if you need any
wheel refurbishment doing you give it to the local butcher rather then send
    it to these guys.

Coo! I've just used that word and I'd not even seen your post!

    <Snip>

Sorry to hear about your wheel.

    Sue the bastards.

Bad form but **** that, ask for 100% and the price of a new wheel. It
sounds like the one you've got is now unusable.

  4. I did think about it but I doubt I'll get anything directly from them so
sill save this for the small claims bit (I was thinking at least I could say
that I was being reasonable in what I asked for previously). My only worry
is that the company is in Scotland and they have a different legal system
don' they? May stop in at the CAB tomorrow.
