Feeneys

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Julie and Deb, Mar 8, 2005.

  1. .... are going to lose customers very soon, if they haven't already done so.

Deb's been waiting 8 months for a front guard for the Raptor, and Feeneys
are being, to politely paraphrase the mechanics where her bike was repaired,
"obstructive". We thought the delays were from the Italian end of the
    supply chain, apparently not.

This isn't the first time we've needed parts for the beasty, only to have
Feeneys refuse to supply to a non-Cagiva dealer. The current workshop used
to be a Cagiva dealership but are no longer. The bike was purchased there
new and has been serviced there ever since, the only work done elsewhere was
when we were in Victoria and it needed a new rear sprocket.

    Not good enough, guys.

    Are you sure ?

I found Feeneys to be pretty good but MV Agusta/Cagiva (facvtory) to
be just another badly organised and managed Italian company.

Can't you just buy the guard from Feeneys yourself ?

  3. We're going to front up down there very soon and see if that makes a
difference, however we shouldn't need to. The customer shouldn't have to
source the parts because the supplier won't supply the repairer. And, as I
said, it isn't the first time.

  4. Yeah, I know. But John shouldn't have to be the meat in the sandwich.

Paul should know how we feel by now anyway. I called the shop today and let
it be known that 8 months was not an acceptable length of time to wait for a
part, particularly after I was told it should be 2-3 weeks.

It is not unusual for a non Cagiva dealer not to be able to buy from
    the distributor.

I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara and the dealer I bought it from has just
    given back their Suzuki dealership.
They were fed up with Suzujki rejecting warranty claims that other
distributors would pay on and then having to face flack from the
    customers. But thats another story.

They can now only get Suzuki parts by buying them from another Suzuki
    dealer.

Sounds to me like Feeneys (still) cannot get parts from the factory
and that comes back to really bad organisiation and management at MV
    Agusta/Cagiva.
This situation has existed for about 4 years now and I do not see it
    being fixed any time soon.
