Yeh, but putting your name to something like that can't be good.
Although reality says that lots of people will like it because it has
the right badge and is expensive.
    Wasn't that in MCN?
Looks like someone left the model in a sunny spot and it melted. Or was
run over my a Ferrari, or both.

    Jeesus. What an abortion.
And an engine, and "buttons from a Formula 1 race car".

The MV F4 was on the drawing board when Tamburini was still at Ducati,
& the 'F' of F4 isn't just a random letter plucked from the ether
(Ferrari did a lot of work on the engine design). It is possible the MV
would've been a Ferrari-badged Ducati had Tamburini stuck around.

A decade ago, or a decade before the MV (which would be nearly 2
    decades ago)?

I doubt it - that's a one-off tribute bike & nothing to do with Ducati
(or Ferrari for that matter, as far as the design of & building are
    concerned).

over the last decade or more.
    Iow, nothing new.

It's a styling job. The wanker who designed it has never ridden a bike.
Consider the relative positions of the saddle and the footpegs.

Plus, the fact that there doesn't seem to be a bump stop on the seat.
What are those forks about? Can't really make them out..
