Do you only get the one tv channel up there or something?

    it's great fun.

Especially when you've just been told that no permanent employee is
getting a pay rise this year, and all contract rates are being cut by
    15%.

Every year we have that "Jeans for genes" thing, where you're meant to
pay a quid so you can come to work in jeans. Except most of us do
    anyway.

Depends on team size. Might be a couple of EKS at the end of their
    contracts.

  6. Heh. The headmistress seems to be in the best woolly-minded tradition.

No, but Friday evening is one of the rare occasions when I sometimes
watch television as it's broadcast: HIGNFY, QI, and possibly LWJH, all
    on BBC.

We cancelled our Sky subscription because it wasn't worth the money.

    As for ITV: eurgh.

I'm with you. All children SHOULD be in need and of not that, they should be
    kneed.

That's going to be another celeb-fest innit? I'm glad I'm out tonight too.

I can't remember the last time I ever wore a pair of jeans. They were never
    comfortable and they look crappy.

  12. Unfortunately so. I realised with a shudder as they punted it on the BBC
    this morning.

Going out's a bit risky, innit? Tin-rattlers going round the pubs, pubs
    putting events on?

Sod that. Stay in, keep the TV off.

Anyway, I would now be aware of it even without this thread. The sandwich
shop staff were wearing yellow ears and flogging Pudsey-shaped-and-iced
    biscuits for a quid.

OK, you're out of luck there
    That's still on
but that's not, for a completely different reason.
There's only one thing worth watching on ITV: Harry Hill's TV Burp.

Shouldn't you mention something about them only being suitable for
    manual labourers?

She's actually quite a babe .. well, for her age.

Her daughter is a _real_ babe ... ;)

"QI Children in Need Special: Family"

    ****. Right. Off.
    Isn't it? It's still listed on bbc.co.uk and bleb.org.
    Gawd no.

Drinking and conversation this evening, I reckon.

    heh.

I expect no sympathy, but it's a pain in the tits, because apparently
the ruling also applies to people (like me) who've been promoted mid
year, who were due to get retrospective pay rate increases, and now
    won't.
