In that case, between contracting and CET, I'm on 27 years for the same
employer - only the name has changed

The Wasp is the naval version - the land version, the Scout had the more
    usual skids.

In my experience of being a small company director, the work itself is
fairly easy, it's employing people that is the stress factor, as most
have their own agenda, and do not share the same values as you.

I would not consider going back to that role and quite like being a
    wage slave.

35 years full time with just a 9 month break at somewhere else in 1974.
Plus 5 years part time/temporary contract working from the same desk as
    I left in 2003.

OMFG, I too see a mental picture of TOG when I listen to Ed Reardon's
    week. Bloody hell.

And Joe Grundy always make me think of Grimly Curmugeon, **** knows why
as I 've never met or seen him.

That's been outside Asda in Swindon numerous times over the last god
knows how many years. I reckon I could single-handedly restore a
Concorde in less time than it's taking them to do that.

On a visit to Duxford me and my mate Allun were watching a team of guys
restoring a Spitfire. Allun walks up to the barrier and asks "How long
have you been working on this one then?", one of the guys looks across
and says "About 2 years", Al responds with "Jesus Christ, it only took
a team of unskilled women 3 days to build the fucking thing in the
    first place."

I watched him years ago and found him hilarious but that may have been
    due to the smoky atmosphere.

Does he still groom badgers for the badger parade?

Of course they have their own agenda - their autonomous human beings,
    with their own priorties.

And, as the values of someone running their own business is likely to
be "make me lots of money", it's hardly surprising that his employees
don't share the same focus on making the boss lots of money.

Not on TV Burp, no. I think there was some kind of dispute with Gareth

Not exactly my main problem - there seems to be a lot of in-fighting
between individuals started up of late

Of course, you can turn it to your advantage, but ...
