  1. (Or however it's spalled and I cba to Google)

What a load of absolute crap. A masterly opening scene and then just
    complete bollocks.

you clearly know nothing about modern movies.

I bet your favourite film of all time is something like "The
    Dambusters".

On the subject, of movies, I know it's not particularly modern, but
I'd not seen it before: I watched "Amadeus" recently - why did anyone
thing that was any good? I mean, the Falco song of the same name is
better (if not least because the song is about 2% of the running time
    of the fucking dreary movie).

It's a Tarantino film and was exactly what I expected. I watched it
flying down to Jo'burg and as in flight entertainment it was great.

  4. Probably not.
Nah. FWIW, in no particular order, Citizen Kane, Some Like It Hot, The
Godfather 1 & 2, Local Hero, Cabaret, Destry Rides Again, Schindler's
List, Toy Story, Groundhog Day, Howl's Moving Castle and Up.

Well it's certainly not historically correct. Well not just yet anyway, but
give the spetics half a chance and.....

Conversley, I thought it a welcome return to form by Tarantino.

And, for Darsy's benefit, I liked Amadeus too.

Because it added a visual dimension to the brilliant music? And told an
entertaining story about envy & jealous. Brilliant film.

But then I like his music.

Patent bollocks though. About as true to life as U-571.

Just avoid all films with spelling or grammatical errors in their titles.
Then walk out when you see the laws of physics being broken.
You may not see many movies but you will be much happier....

No, no, no. The first scene was the worst in the whole movie. From the
time the Germans first appeared, you knew there would be a bloodbath
and it was just a question of how long QT would tease us and keep us
in suspense before the first shot was fired. That scene was far too
    predictable.

well, I also liked it, but apart from the stupid grindhouse gag, what
did you think he was "returning to form" from? He's associated with a
lot of movies, but he hasn't actually directed that many (script
    writing doesn't entirely count)

In the sense that it was predictably QT, and I like the way he does
things. You just *knew* how some scenes were going to pan out. I liked
it *because* of this but I do realise others will have disliked it for
    the self same reason.

    not answering the question.

What previous Tarantino movie did you think he was "returning to form"
from ; I'll spell it out - which previous one didn't you like?

OK - so I've been drawn in to defending Champ's specific phrase as I
took the easy option of piggy-backing his post.

You've obviously now reached some kind of Zen-like state, far above

kind of response you're trying to elicit over and above me answering a
direct question with a straight forward answer.

going back 5 posts or so in this sub-thread, I inserted the clause
"but apart from the stupid grindhouse gag". I assumed you'd read and
understood that. My mistakes mostly recently seem to revolve around
    over-estimating others.

But in general, you're correct: you know, I'm so sober I even
considered criticising your grammar in the text above (and it would
have been futile, because most people would probably think there's
    nothing wrong with it).

Roll on 1:30 or so tomorrow.
