if you want to see a film that makes you a bit sad/angry and glad things
have changed the Magdalene Sisters is being shown on Ch4 now. 4+1 in an
    hour.

I'm glad I watched it but my mate and I went straight to the pub after
seeing it at the cinema. We were a bit quiet for the first 2 pints and then
    got a bit ranty.

I've just finished reading Childhood Interrupted by Kathleen O Malley which
is about the same sort of thing. It's not a great work of literature but I
don't think I could stand being in the same room as a Catholic nun just at
    the moment.

You laugh at me because I am different
I laugh at you because you are all the same

  3. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, wessie
When "The Accused" came out, I went to see it in Edinburgh with a group
of friends. Most of whom were lesbians...

The following drinks in the pub were a little... fraught. Frankly I'm a
little surprised I didn't cut my own willy off.

    What a superb film.

Of course, it's all appallingly exaggerated with much of it never
actually happening at all ... according to certain Irish catholics...

  7. There's a good amount of info on the net about the Magdelene asylums.
had a look after i saw the film- never heard of them before. Couldn't
believe how late it carrried on...

  8. The cunts are shifting the goalposts now. From what I've heard, they
(the RC church) are effectively blocking any new claims from anyone who
went through that horrible system and got abused /scarred for life,
along the lines of "it's too late now and we can't be expected to keep
on being guilty, so **** off". The Government, of course, lack the balls
to say "WTF?" and tell them to shut up and pay up.

Papist church in bunch of cunts non shocker. This is the organisation
that brought in the inquisition and colluded with the Nazis[1]. So no
surprise that it continued to be a force for evil and does so to this
    day. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2003/oct/09/aids

[1] Not surprising as AH was brought up as a catholic.
