....a Thundercat sized hole appeared in the garage this morning; local
chap paid the full asking price for it in the end, and is very pleased
    with it.

Said hole didn't stay empty for long though - it's now filled with

    Cheers. ;-)

I've had a perversion for these since I first tried one back in
    something like 2002.

    LOL

It has *masses* of mid range, and I suspect my licence will sat intact
for longer with something like this due to the lack of fairing. :)

The only pisser is... my wrists ached (1) a bit earlier on after I'd
been for a 40 mile ride on it.

Not as bad as on more sporty stuff, but it does begin to beg the
question whether I'll ever find a bike that doesn't kick this in.

    (1) Please insert all the predictable 'stop wanking so much, then'
    responses, here...

Probably time for some old man bar risers then.

You could try raised bars or a lowered seat to take the weight off
    of your wrists.

I think part of the problem is down to vibration rather than the
actual angles of the wrists - do these tackle that?

See above - I think it's more to do with vibrations than the angle of
    my wrists in this instance.

On the more sporty stuff I've had, you can see how, due to me being
6'3" and all 'body and arms' rather than legs, the wrists are bent
back quite a bit, so I'm presuming the tendons etc in the wrists are
then being stressed due to being stretched over the joint etc.

On the GSX, my wrists are much straighter and the pain doesn't kick in
    as quickly.

Given my build, I'm not keen on the idea of a reduction in seat
height, as I'll invariably then end up with nagging knees to add to
the list of 'things that never happened when I were a bit
    younger'. ;-)

It's a robust old Jap behemoth, Nige... not a Moto Guzzi /
    Triumph. ;-)

I love the amount of stomp it has when you roll it on in top at
    something like 80.

I'm not so keen on the way that when you open it right up in the lower
gears, the fuel gauge has this tendency to drop noticeably, and not
    recover.

    Not really. Motocross-style gel grips?

I'm thinking more about whether I can get bar brackets that are better
damped than the OE ones, tbh.

It's not a big deal anyway, more of a irritant than a reason to stop
riding, and one I wouldn't mind trying to get the better of if at all
    possible.

Maybe new rubbers for the handlebar mounts would do the trick.
And while you're at it, turn those bars upside down so they're
    in a sensible position.

Aye, I think I'll try those next.
    Hummm... yes.

Obvious candidate for the 'cafe racer' treatment, this one. ;-)
