....got it through my thick head that slow steering might, just might,
be related to low front tyre pressure.

As it's such nice weather, I took the LC4 out for a spin earlier -
very funny feeling from the front: slow steering, and a reluctance to
    turn right at all.

*ding* went the lightbulb above my head - "I've been here before" I
    though.

Sure enough, took it to the next petrol station, and checked the tyre
pressures: 29psi in the rear, and *cough* 8psi in the front. That'll
be that then. Sure enough, filled both up to 32psi and off I went,
happy as larry on a properly handling LC4[1]

[1] for LC4 values of "proper handling" of course.

On which note, I rather like the cheap-as-chips Maxxis Supermaxx hoops
that I had put on the Duke a couple of weeks ago. They seem quite sure-
footed in both wet and dry conditions and they were plenty cheapness.

Certainly more pleasant to ride on than the tyres on the gixer which,
having done one-and-a-bit days at Cadwell are a bit lopsided and overly
    pointy.

I've still got an unused pair of Maxxis/Goldspeed cut slicks + inner
tubes that should fit either of our KTMs - are you interested at all,
before I sling 'em on ebay?

I'm sticking the bike itself on again tomorrow, as although it's a
hoot to ride, I really don't need it at the moment.

in fact, the 12R will be going on ebay too as soon as I've sorted the
battery, got it MOTed and taxed.

    tell what?

I'm selling all my shit, because I'm intending not having anywhere to
put it all at some point in the near(ish) future.

    Sling 'em on ebay.

I only really use the KTM as a commuter so I'd square off anything
    sticky in seconds.

    [lc4]
dunno - last time I tried to sell it, I put it on with a reserve of
£2K, and it only went as far as £1750. If I got £1750, I'd be happy
    enough.
