I've enjoyed reading numerous posts here, though I contribute only on
a small basis. However, lately this ng has been polluted. So, Mr
Walker, take your fucking juvenile playground antics and personal
attacks somewhere else (personal emails between you and your "friends"
would be better). This is a *motorcycling* newsgroup, admittedly
non-moderated, and I (and presumably a great number of others) am
weary of your personal vendettas and attacks. You've actually had
some pretty good things to say in the past, but lately you've become
nothing more than a pathetic, whining little pain in the ass.

The weather's nice, so let's get back to discussing motorcycles and
    riding. 'Nuff said.

**** you FXRS Tim.. You didn't seem to have a problem with all the sleazy
shit that was being slung back and forth, for the past two months.. I
thought it got way out of hand a long time ago.. Wanna talk about
motorcycles and motorcycles. Quit whining and talk about them all you want..
My posts have more motorcycle content about those topics little series posts
are doing just that... If you don't like it.. click...click...click.. Going
to the ROT rally.. I am..

  3. : You missed out on a fun little ride. We did the 2222 to 620 to Bee
: Caves. Down Hamilton Pool Road, turned off on some highway that dropped
    : us into Drippings Springs.

That would be RR12, a fun little ride its ownself.

Went to Wimberly for lunch, the Salt Lick
    : idea got dropped.

You went by within 5 miles of it. It's a good place to eat, but it's BYOB
and there are better BBQ places. It's a pretty cool building and grounds,
    though.

Wimberly to Blanco, somewhere in there we hit some
: highway I'd heard about called 'The Devils Backbone'. I was a bit let
: down by this road. I had heard that it had some good twistys, what I saw
: was some twists but nothing as radical as I had been lead to believe.
: Maybe if I took the road at near 100 mph, but the curves were just to
: gradual to really be a challenge.

The Devil's Backbone used to be narrow, with dropoffs on both sides, but
it was reworked and now it's pretty tame. I hope you got to enjoy the
view while on it, though, a great slice of the hill country. Did y'all
stop at Was Riley's? One of my favorite places to while away an afternoon.

Anyway, we ended up on hwy 290 and
: made our way back to Austin. It was a nice little ride, the grass is
: actually green this time of year and there are still some wild flowers
    : to be found.

You should have detoured over to the Willow City Loop, it's amazing this
    time of year.

: I was the only one who didn't have a cruiser. Three Sportsters, three
: Soft Tails, one Shadow and me on my ZR-7S. All dark bikes and me on my
: day glow yellow. Well at least I stood out from the pack. We ended up at
: some bar in North Austin and after a few started planning on an other
: ride in the near further. I'll post with more details when they come up.

Glad you enjoyed your day. Ride Texas magazine <http://www.ridetexas.com>
has a ride guide for sale that has many rides all through Texas and a lot
in the Austin area. Well worth the price if you're not familiar with the
roads in the hill country, (no affiliation other than a subscriber), but
I like to just go out and see where the FM roads and county roads go.

Now that's my speed.. You end up on a lot of dead enders and lost causes but
damn, it beats hell out of the planned and scheduled rides, sometimes..

The bitter little man from Irving replied:
Just can't grow out of that stage of your life I guess.

Actually, I did mention it a month or two ago.
Since it's only 10 minutes from the house, of course I'll be there.
Instead of clink, how about "ploink"?

Good.. good opportunity to "plonk" each other in person rather than on a
keyboard.. right ? Hmm.. gonna be somewhere in the neighborhood of 100,000
bikers in town.. I'll be the one wearing the black leather vest with chaps
and a lot of small conchos.. tastefully lined along the side seams of each
leg.. two silver dollar conchos on the beltline in front and back.. that's
four of them puppies, ain't it.. I will be mounted on a '96 Vulcan Classic
800.. teal green with silver panels, each side of the gas tank.. Pretty nice
and tasteful pin striping..Lots of chrome detail with leather, studded
bags.. Don't know exactly where I will stay, but I've had several
invitations to stay with friends.. Probably will use a motel, but someone
else is making those reservations.. I'd be delighted to discuss all this
obvious offensive with you in person, since I will be in the area... OK..
buddy..any chance of that? Might give you and me both, just a little relief
to know who we are mad at and why..

Patience.. Patience Albert.. I will get to you.. I do realize your "genius"
with the "killfile" thingy is only exceeded by your silly little whining
about "OT" postings.. Must be infuriating.. huh

More than willing to. I'll be almost as easy to find. I'll be the
6'4" guy on the red FXRS w/ gold pinstripes, drag bars, and wearing a
red fullface helmet. Yeah, I'm one of the HD anomalies that actually
wears a real lid. Gotta make it either THU or FRI though 'cause I'm
    riding to Pensacola SAT morning.

    <snip a sadly missed mosey through CenTex>

Dammit! I got the semi-annual pleasure of taking my physical fitness
test on Monday and had to miss the ride. Not really a bad thing, but
when it interferes w/ riding it's not as much fun. Sounds like you
guys saw some nice stuff. I'm w/ you - Devils Backbone is pretty
disappointing since the road expansion was done. It used to kick ass
back in the day. I did some scorching runs along there on a
non-street-legal Yamaha TZ750 back in the early 80's. *THAT* was
fun!!! Thankfully I don't have a criminal record to remind me of
those trips. <g> Let me know when you can get away for another trip,
'cause I'm about due for a sanity ride.

riding through Stephenville and taking the the back highways to Austin.. We
will be in Austin early enough to check in .. Have a good trip to
Pensacola..Sounds like we won't be running together on my visit to Austin,
this time.. However.. I posted my address on this group a few days ago..If
you noticed, it was verified by another poster, who bothered to check it
with the county tax office.. LOL..You are invited to swing by on your return
trip from Florida.. Damn son.. you are kind of "big guy" .. huh.. And you
got yourself a nice ride..See ya'..

Funny, I've been trying to "discuss motorcycles" and keep being
attacked by the select few. I haven't searched them out. Perhaps you
might want to think about directing this to the one's attacking and
stalking others in this group? Most of those claim to have me
"killfiled", yet they take my motorcycle postings and either cancel
the postings or they attack it.

I for one am not going anywhere. Lately, I've just stayed here just
out of spite for the one's who've been trying to run me off. I left
here for a couple weeks getting ready for the ROT rally and came back
to find only a couple postings made...and none of those were from the
"select few". Heck, even Sunny makes an announcement about her husband
being in a wreck by leading it in a direction of attacking "Bill
Walker"...my dad. All the while, you didn't say a word? Nah, direct
your "whining little pain in the ass" somewhere else.

You *could* contact Lisa Maurer @ Internet America (214-861-2500...or
try 2577...or just try any of the series of 25xx until she's the one
who picks up the phone) and tell her that you want to have her do
something about Bill Walker. If she's still refusing to take calls,
the fax number is 214-861-2663. If the fax doesn't seem to be working,
then the next step would be email to . If that
doesn't work, then you could alternatively try .

That seemed to work SO well last time!

In fact, we might need to find another "co-moderator" in this group.
She's getting harder and harder to find these days to place these
    complaints to.
You've been hard pressed to discuss anything motorcycle related.

Might be able to arrange a couple of cold ones that night.
The Navy decided they want to spend some more money on educating me,
but don't ya know they schedule it to start on the one weekend I had
stuff planned. I had originally planned on riding to NM to meet up w/
a bunch of HD riders from all over N. America who gather at a friend's
ranch. I was hoping to take my son on his first official road trip as
pilot instead of passenger. Oh well, just have to figure out another
    trip.
Might try to do that. I've got friends in the DFW area that I should
probably drop in on soon. But.... it'll depend on the weather.
Mid-June can dole out some nice surprises. I've been chasing storms
since I was a kid in Midland, but chasing on 2 wheels ain't my cup o'
    tea.

Damn son.. you are kind of "big guy" .. huh.. And you
I'm good looking too! <g> Thanks - I've got 94k miles on her and
she's still going strong. I've done multiple coast-to-coast trips on
it, plus the left coast from Mexico to Canada, along w/ a bunch of the
midwest. Still haven't managed to make Sturgis yet. Maybe if they
ever decide to de-commercialize it a bit I'll drop in.

Sounds like an idea.. If you want to drop a number on my e-mail, I'll give
you a call.. LOL.. Last year, I wound up in a motel in Georgetown, flat out
under some A/C..When you get my age, that heat sure takes the steam out of
you..Kinda felt like I'd been rode hard and put up wet, again..
They do make a guy hunt for some cover..
If you never been, I guess Sturgis is a good one.. I have enjoyed going up
there several times, but I promised myself I wouldn't go back after the last
run we did.. Like you said, too commercial.. Too many trailered up to a
little town about 50 miles outside of Strurgis and were just "stylin" for
the big one..Daytona Beach is a good one, but getting to be more of the
same.. I made it to the International down in Mazatlan, a couple of years
ago.. Now that was a real rally..Gypsies hosted it .. There was only about
50,000 made it in, but it was a good one..Those Mexican bikers blister paint
when they ride and they sure know how to throw a party..They did it last
year in Laredo Nuevo, but I didn't make that one..BTW.. Don't sound like you
been doing much "stylin" on your Harley.. Enjoy..
