One does not pass a CBT one takes it. it is training not a test. The
purpose of it is to give you some *very* basic skills in order that you
are allowed on the road on a motorcycle without supervision. If you
think for a moment that in some way it qualifies you then you are wrong.

Depends, where do you stand on pink?

    Well done!
Smart move. I'd seriously recommend six months riding day-in day-out on
a nice well-behaved half-litre bike to get the hang of what it's all
about. Including falling off at least once.
Depends whether you stole his identity, or not.

Training it is indeed. But if you havn't absorbed sufficient of it,
then you don't get your certificate, and you have to do it again. Some
people call this process "failing", as opposed to "passing".

In the eyes of authoritah!, it does indeed qualify you (to use your
    provisional license).

Failing as in failing to grasp the fundamentals of basic bike control I
can go with without an argument but you don't pass the FoBBC you
    <synonym of acquire> it.

As with lifesavers I feel the semantics of it all are of great
importance, especially to newbies. Awareness and all that shit.

Well, how did you get on?

  15. I felt I achieved something, considering I'd never touched a manual
bike before. I do feel, however, my 4 years of car driving experience
paid dividends as far as road awareness, etc, was concerned.

My instructor bod (I was lucky enough to be 1 on 1 on the road ride)
had me doing some *more* advanced things, such as a nice 65MPH blat on
a nice B road, as I'd made the school previously aware of my intention
to continue training to full test standard.
I might wear my rude, pink T shirt. I am fully aware of this raising
    various sociological issues.

Achieved is a good word. In some ways suggestive of something still to
    come...

    ....such as 70, perhaps?

It is a learning curve, as you will find.

Welcome to the dark side btw.

  17. It's a Brighton Thing [1].
Well enough. The chap seemed impressed enough to do some *more*[2]
    advanced things.
I am still debating what to get. I'm coming round to the ER-5 and
CB500 again now, trying to think practically.

    [1] Possibly not true. /\

  18. Don't I know it.
It was only a CG125... Plus I only had 2 T shirts and a grey jumper to
protect me other than helmet and gloves. I was a bit nippy - good job
    it's always sunny in Sussex.
    Anyone got a torch?
