If Honda are like Yamaha, the "Police" versions of the bikes are a seperate
listed model. For the XJ900 Diversion the Police model had an extra 40-odd
kg (from memory) which, if the same on the Honda, may get it closer to the
    line.
(although it'd have 120-odd horses so would probably have to weigh 2 tonne
    to be legal!*)

I think the applicable term is "not assessed".

Probably. 16.4 kw, 115kg, makes 142 kw/tonne, so it is legal, just not
    noted down.

More than a stock Harley, but that's not surprising!

  6. imho, the cbr250rr is better than the zzr. i'm 5'10 and 80kg and the
cbr fitted me like a glove (not that the zzr didn't - which was my
first bike). forget taking a pillion on the cbr but that's not
something that you can do legally atm anyway. there is also the yamaha
fzr to consider and it's prob better for taller peeps. the zzr at
110kmph sounds like it's in pain - the cbr doesnt and still has enough
to get you past cars easily.

In NSW it says words to the effect of "All motorcycles 250cc and
under *except* this list of half a dozen or so...".

Rubbish. No reason why you can't carry a pillion on a little
    pirate bike, license conditions permitting.

More rubbish. The ZZR sounds like it's in pain above 150Km/h
in top gear, but before that, it's perfectly happy (and it
will go to 165+Km/h with my (5'10", 85kg) arse on it.

  10. it's all relative...

true, you _can_ have a pillion but compared to the zzr (or my vfr) it's
fooked. so forget it, as in - it's not good for it - not that you
    can't.

true, the zzr might not sound like it's in pain at 110 to some... but
from my memory (of it doing the sowing machine thing) and compared to
    the cbr it does.

    GB, are you baiting me???

I saw some death notices for a policeman a while back, and those from his
    workmates were barely intelligible.
Perhaps you have to fail a series of tests to get in.

    I ended up buying the Kawasaki ER-5 (500cc) and it's a beauty!! It'll be a
bloody long time before I'll even get anywhere it's capabilities...if ever!!
I've only had my L's now for a week and for me, this ER-5 is very easy to
ride, quick turning & enough grunt to keep outa trouble, and very comfy.
Can I do a shameless plug?.....I'm in no way connected with these guys only
apart from being a happy customer...The guys at Parramatta Kawasaki (esp
John) were great. I went in as a novice and wasn't treated like a moron when
    asking questions about bikes etc.
Came out with a spick looking bike.....with a smile from ear to ear.
    Highly recommended.
