First they came for the ambulance buyers

  1. From today's Sunday Times: Plod wants to make it illegal to buy
decommissioned ambulances, on the grounds that they could be used by
    suicide bombers.

though they are talking about ex-plod vehicles[1]

Anyway, only the unsuccessful ones could use an ambulance.
The successful ones would need a hearse, or even just a roadsweeper...

[1] including bikes? Danger of getting this thread on-topic

You are completely missing the point.
The entire terrorist scare thing is just a bullshit job creation scheme
    for politicians and police.

It is time to get a grip on reality(tm).
How many people have been killed in terrorist related incidents in the
last 10 years ?. Compare this with :-
    1) The number shot by police.
    2) The number killed by police drivers.
    3) The number killed by NHS incompetance.
    4) The number killed in assorted railway and aviation accidents.
    5) The number killed on the roads every DAY.

Around 700,000 people die of *something* every year.
GET A F*CKING GRIP - the risk is not significant.
Just stop the big publicity and they will not have any reason to try it.

  7. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders
of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple
matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist
dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no
voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked,
and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the
    country to greater danger."
