  1. Of course it is shit. Full of it it is and nasty hormones as well.
Probably rotten with TB bacillus as well. They don't have the high
standards for protecting public health like we do.

  2. No it was quarts. Also when buying beer loose it was common for the jug
    to be a quart one.

In the pub trade, beer is still sold by imperial measures of course:
gallon (8 pints), pin (36), firkin (72), barrel (288), etc.

Pah, he's older than me and he must've had a sheltered teenage in
Gloucester if he didn't come across quart flagons of GL cider. On sale into
the 80s before the 2 litre PET arrived.

When younger, I used to get all my sweets paid for by collecting empty GL &
Corona pop bottles from various building sites and returning them for the
    deposits.

From about 13 I used to persuade my dad to buy quarts of Whitbread Forest
Brown from the grocery, give him half a pint and neck the rest.

I can confirm that. Seemingly the fronts get fucked faster than the
    rears.

I noticed. Heck, even Mobil 1 is pretty cheap at Wallyworld.

Well we're with State Farm after a few recommendations re the quality of
their customer (and claims) service. Unfortunately I've had to check out
    their claims service already :/.
Thing is, insurance is generally a lot more expensive over here for a
lot less coverage here than compared to the UK.

Hardly a surprise, given the way yanks get wood for litigation.

You might be surprised at how much cheaper Progressive is compared to SF.
I'm paying less than half what I used to pay from MetLife, and SF is one
of the "blue-chip" premium rate companies.

Rotella Synth is very good value as a bike oil if you're OK with using a 5W-40
rating. I change my bike's oil often enough that I feel that the mineral-based
Rotella/Delo/Delvac etc. 15W-40 fleet oils are plenty good.

It's not like the UK has a shortage of ambulance chasers, but they're
not quite advertising as blantantly on TV as they do over here...

Well, oddly enough out here, SF tends to be a lot cheaper than The
Lizard, which would be the comparison to Progressive...

Might still be worth checking out Progressive just to see how they
    compare for the same coverage.

My memory[1] says that it always came in 35 fl. oz. bottles, not 40.

    [1] So clearly CBW.

There's a way to avoid that, of course.
