OK, which is the best way? I'm not gonna bother with a bike one this time, i
can get a decent one with bluetooth, any recs?

The bike ones are too expensive, the mount i can get will be a RAM mount for
    the unit.

you could just look at the RAM website

    http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/bike-mount25.htm

Seems easy once you remove that piece of plastic inspired by a 1970s Honda
    Civic

  4. Heh. I spent an hour or so fitting Jamie's iPhone to his bike, via the
cigarette lighter socket I bought[1], so he now has satnav on the bike.

The bike is a 25 year-old Honda 250 Super Dream, ffs. But it's got a
nifty little Invader coour-matched handlebar fairing and all the gubbins
    fits neatly in there.

The pikey answer it to put any available satnav in the transparant bit
    of the tankbag.

Mostly. I found that the sun cooked my mobile to the extent that it
wouldn't charge the battery. So it went flat, even though it was plugged in.

Hmm, interesting. I may have to rethink my plans for the Alp trip.

It was easily solved by just putting a piece of paper over it (I think
it was a map!). Since the sun made it impossible to see the screen
anyway it didn't matter - I found TT's audio instructions fine on their own.

Just give it more beans to get some airflow over the bag.

Most tank bags are black inside.
A piece of white card or aluminium foil in the bottom of the transparant
bit should help reflect some sunshine out of the little greenhouse.

    <sigh>

i expect that if this were shown empirically to be false by auditing all
sales of tank bags produced by all manufacturers over all time, you would
simply say something like "well, those other tank bags are not really
    tank bags according to $new_spurious_and_untestable_definition".
you mean like a *map* inserted into the *map holder*?

we would never have thought of that.
