    Hey All,
Hope all are well. A round for the house!!!
I am having a problem with my 2001 Roadking. It seems that there is a
leak at the base of my shifter shaft. The manual shows a washer and
retaining ring on the shaft. I am assuming the retaining ring is the
source of the leak. Does anyone know if I can get to this without
removing the inner and outer primary? There is some room however, I
can't tell if there is enough room to actually remove the shift
    linkage arm. Thanks all....

Inner and outer primary has to come out. Behind the snap ring
and washer, there is a seal. It needs to be replaced. While you're
there, check all tranny seals (the mainshaft seal requires a special
tool to remove and re-install the primary bearing inner race before
    you can get to it).

Put tape over the shifter shaft before putting in a new seal,
or the splines will wreck it, meaning you'll have to go back in there
    again.
