No. It's proper beer from a proper olde-worlde pump.

Well it's sold like this at both the local 'non political club' and
Merthyr Conservative Club (my preferred venue for a night on the ale).

What did you want me to say?
All the info is there : its nice to drink.
Did you want the Jilly Goolden tasting notes instead?

Brakspears used to do a really smooth mild, albeit seasonally.

It was extremely palateable if mixed 50/50 with their excellent Old Ale.

Since the Henley brewery closed, I've not come across any of the Brakspears
ales I used to enjoy as a lad, other than the box-standard bitter.

No,no,no, you misunderstand, I work on the premise that there is no such
thing as bad beer, only beer and better beer. I therefore consider it my
duty to destruction test the aformentioned liquid to find which of /my/
    categories to file it in.
I do this selflessly, you understand
    <fx staggers selfessly into distance.>

Oh, that's alright then. I thought you wanted me to describe its smell as
"like gym shoes running on hot tarmac"
Or it "tasting like the stuff you put in your washing machine to soften your
clothes" and other such Jilly Goolden crap.
(Yes, she really did use those two descriptions)
Just fucking drink it, Scraggy. Its not bad at all.

BTW : The local (Worksop) Sainsburys were clearing out 500ml bottles of
Aventinus for £1.34 a time last Friday.
    (Fridge currently well stocked <grin>)

    Cheers

  12. Please, let's stick to the quality stuff:

    "revving outboard motor"
    "autumn compost"
    "snakeskin handbag"
    "leather satchel"

    Yegods! I'd forgotten those.
F&D used to be compulsory viewing - just to see what shite she'd come out
    with.
    Remember the Real Ale tasting?
Someone obviously told her that beer had malt and hops in it.
So every beer was either "malty" or "hoppy"
