I think people wearing Driza-Bone coats look like cunts.

    Go for it!

Good point. I prefer the ex military stuff, they have weird pockets.

  5. Indeed it does. And has good pocketses for putting stuff in (leads, dog
training treats, small handguns for shooting kids etc) in.

I realise that this will be the kiss of death as far as Cane is
    concerned..

    I have a grey/tan covert coat with a contrasting dark-brown collar.
    Very smart I look too.

they're named for the cloth they're made out of. The term comes from
the French couvert, meaning a shady place or thicket, and in English
came to mean a hiding place for game birds.

Covert cloth is a twill-woven fabric in which a combination of two
threads of different tones of the same colour are twisted together to
form a marled effect--i.e., a slightly mottled look rather than a
clear colour. This is the correct colour for a covert coat, not the
plain "tan" that Simon refers to.
I believe a hearty "**** right off, cunty-bollocks" is in order at
    this point.

    Snap (well, fawn and browny-red).

It doesn't really cut the mustard at Television Centre, though. I have to
slide back to "geography teacher chic"

    that way, IYSWIM.

I'm trying to visualise you in one of those, and it's not going well. All
you'd need would be Wayfarers and a bad homburg to look like Van Morrison.

well, I'm sure I have an old pair of tortoise-shell Wayfarers kicking
around the house. No homburg, mind.

Van Morrison looks like a spa town in Germany?
I thought he was more of a fedora man.

I've never seen him in a red hat. Perhaps you were thinking of George Melly.

Well, I suppose you never know when you might need to secrete a brace of
pheasants about your person as you wander down Old Broad St.
