In fairness, I've never been in your khasi (thought it was khazi, but
    with my spelling record.....)
I agree. And to paraphrase, 'Every time I learn something new I'm
astounded about how much I don't know'

My dad (formerly an industrial pharmacist) used to have a lot of time
for herbal medicine (or at least *some* herbal medicine). After all -
most of the modern pharmacopea is either made from - or derived from
analogues of - compounds found in plants.

Of course the main problem with herbal medicine is standardised dosage
    - you can't guarentee how much active compound that you get in a dosage
because that will depend on variations in preparation, on variations in
    growing conditions etc etc.

Interestingly it looks like (in some circumstances) having a
multi-compound herbal medicine rather than a mono-compound drug may
actually be more effective due to synergy effects between the different
    compunds.
Needles - hmmm.. acupuncture. Which does seem to work in some
circumstances but I suspect it has more to do with having a needle
stuck into a nerve median rather than having your 'energies
    rebalanced'[1].

[1] Direct quote from one of my team who is very much into 'new age'
stuff - she has crystals round her desk and believes in having her
    chakras rebalanced regularly..

Went to the Doc this morning as it was getting worse. Folliculitis.
Inflammation of the hair follicles sometimes caused by shaving.
Amoxicilin capsules and Fucidin cream will sort it.

    Thanks **** for vivisection.

  8. The 'Crystal energy' shop in Swindon.. which has reams and reams of
data about each crystal including things like which hour of the day
    they are most active at..
Also not gentle is their formation process..

[1] Given that the 'properties' of crystals vary wildly depending on
