I have an Yamaha ZE50 Zest - air-cooled two-stroke from 1993. It's restricted to 50kph, which was fine when I was in the UK and using it around town. Now I'd like to be able to do the NSL. I remember being told by someone in the place I bought it that the restriction was electronic and that it could be removed by 'disconnecting one wire'. I've Googled but all the 'HOWTOs' talk about widening the exhaust outlet, drilling things out and replacing things. Anyone here know anything about these engines (it was also used on the Jog and one or two others IIRC) and if they are electronically restricted (rather than mechanically)? Or was the person at the bike shop full of shit? tia Derek
